How long should I stay for Hip Replacement?
You should stay approximately 5 weeks to complete a whole process. On your arrival day, you should stay in your hotel to relax from a long flight and have a surgery on the following day. Normally, hip replacement will require 5-7 nights stay in the hospital per one area. Post operative check up will be done 7 days after the dischared, and a month after surgery.

How is surgery performed?
It is usually performed under a general anesthetic. Surgeon makes a cut over hip and thigh. The top end of the thigh bone will be removed and a ball on a stem will be placed into the thigh bone. The hip socket will be hollowed out and an artificial socket will be placed into it. The artificial part of the thigh bone can then fit into this socket. Your surgeon will close the wound with stitches or clips and cover it with a dressing. It takes up to two hours.

What is the post-surgical care?
A special pillow may be placed between your legs to hold the new joint still and help prevent dislocation. On the first day, you may have to wear special pads, attached to an intermittent compression pump. The pump inflates the pads and encourages healthy blood flow in your legs and helps to prevent DVT (A clot in a deep vein). You may also have compression stockings to help maintain circulation. The operated leg may be a slightly different length. Sometimes a raised shoe on the shorter side is necessary. Six weeks after surgery, when you regain full hip movement, you can probably resume driving. At this time, your surgeon also may allow you to return to work, depending on how much physical activity is involved in your occupation.
