  • How is surgery performed?

  • Decompressive laminectomy can be performed as an open surgery or laparoscopic surgery. Surgeon removes all of the lamina of the vertebra to widen the spinal canal and create more space for the spinal nerves.

Laminotomy, just a portion of the lamina is removed to relieve pressure.

Spinal Fusion Surgery is also a treatment for spinal stenosis.

Which procedure to be performed depends on patient’s condition and doctor’s decision.
